So, this post is going to be somewhat different that usual. Instead of examining the corruption of certain members of Congress, I wanted to share the best and most comprehensive solution to that corruption, and to encourage you all to take action on it.
The We The People Amendment, or H. J. Res. 48, is a proposed constitutional amendment proposed by Rep. Pramila Jayapal (D-WA), that would confirm that corporations are not people, and that money is not speech. Tomorrow, she will testify in support of the amendment during the House Judiciary Subcommittee on the Constitution, Civil Rights and Civil Liberties hearing. In anticipation of it, we need to put pressure on the members of the committee to support the amendment, and to move it forward in committee.
As I have covered on this blog thus far, and will continue to do so, corporations have donated to several politicians, at times, in droves, who then turn around and do favors to benefit them, and betray the American people. If we can pass this amendment, we will take corporations' power to buy our politicians away, and we will make it clear that spending unlimited amounts of money on our politicians is not free speech. With that in mind, here is the list of representatives to call and what to say to them:

Additionally, if your representative has not yet cosponsored the amendment, please call them and urge them to do so. You can check to see whether or not they have here: https://www.congress.gov/bill/116th-congress/house-joint-resolution/48/cosponsors
Remember, the hearing is tomorrow, so I encourage you to call as soon as possible. In the meantime, I'll return to this issue when I hear updates on it.
